A national search is underway for a new Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Current University of Minnesota Crookston Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Thomas Baldwin, announced his intention to retire. Consequently, a national search has been launched for a new vice chancellor of the Crookston campus.
I am very pleased to announce that Barbara J. Keinath, Ph.D., has accepted my offer to serve as vice chancellor for academic affairs for the University of Minnesota Crookston. As you may know, we had two outstanding candidates for this position, and I am confident that Dr. Keinath will be an excellent addition to UMC’s leadership team. I sincerely believe she has the experience, skills, and passion to make her an excellent fit for this position and our campus. Barbara will begin her new responsibilities on Monday, July 1. When you see her on campus, please welcome her to our UMC community.
Barbara holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration with a focus on higher education and policy from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. in College Student Personnel from Michigan State University, and a B.A. in German also from Michigan State. She has served as vice provost and dean of graduate studies and, prior to that, as director of online learning at Metropolitan State University in the Twin Cities. She also has strong teaching experience, having served as a professor of management at Metropolitan State. Her CV is available online .
