S.P.A.C.E. stands for Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment. We are UMC's entertainment authority. SPACE's goal is to provide entertainment and activities for students at UMC. Activities include: hypnotists, comedians, mentalists, musicians/singers, dances, Mr. UMC, and Homecoming.
W.O.W. – What’s on Wednesday is a weekly series that features countless evening entertainment options on Wednesday’s throughout the year. S.P.A.C.E. coordinates the series and brings in comedians, hypnotists, magicians, musicians, movie nights and holds an occasional open mic competition and “homegrown” programs such as bingo, and Mr. UMC. Other clubs and departments also sponsor W.O.W. events and are encouraged to do so. All of the events that S.P.A.C.E. sponsors are completely free for UMC Students to participate in.
Music on Mondays – One Monday a month S.P.A.C.E. brings in musical talent to entertain the UMC Community over the lunch hour in the Sargeant Student Center Northern Lights Lounge. The series is predominantly coffeehouse singer/songwriters and represent a variety of genres.
Homecoming – Homecoming is the weeklong celebration held in the fall and is marked annually by a theme voted on by the Student Body. Events are held daily and include grocery bag bingo, royalty coronation, dance, daytime activities and of course the week is capped off with a Bonfire, Parade, Tailgate and Football Game.
Regal After Hours – S.P.A.C.E. is in partnership with Athletics, Residential Life and International Programs in planning weekend activities at UMC. Every weekend there are events going on ranging from Athletic Events, Movie Nights, Cookie Decorating, Midnight Dodgeball to shopping trips.
