North Country Food Bank
The packing operation recently moved to the Valley Tech Park on the UMC campus, so volunteering to pack boxes and backpacks is easier than ever! Additionally, there also is a food shelf located in the downtown NCFB location at 424 North Broadway, and they can use shopping assistants. This animal shelter is staffed entirely by volunteers. Help is needed especially from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 10 a.m. on weekends. Please call 218-281-7225 for information and to volunteer.

Thrift Shop Help
A local non-profit thrift shop is seeking individuals to volunteer as a store clerk. The thrift shop is open spring, summer, and fall. Right now individuals are needed daily from noon to 2 p.m., 2-4 p.m., and 4-6 p.m. shifts. Training is held on Saturdays. If you would like more information, please contact Kay at (218) 289-1246.
Interested in working with youth? Here is a great opportunity: PATCH is an after-school homework help program for 7-12th grade students. Volunteers would assist students with homework in a variety of subjects from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Currently seeking a volunteer on Tuesdays starting in November and continuing until May; volunteers will have the opportunity to win gift cards if they sign up for 3 or more sessions. Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign
The bell ringing campaign is the Salvation Army's biggest fund raiser.
