Transfer Student Merit Scholarships

We are pleased to offer our new transfer students merit scholarships that acknowledge a dedication and commitment to the classroom prior to enrolling at UMC.

Your information will automatically be reviewed for scholarship determination upon admission to UMC. We encourage you to apply for admission early as scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted. Please find scholarship criteria and additional requirements below:

Scholarships for Transfer Students

Scholarship Amount Cumulative GPA
Transfer Presidential $2,000 3.75 - 4.00
Transfer Chancellor $1,500 3.50 - 3.74
Transfer Distinguished $1,000 3.25 - 3.49

 

  1. Students must be U.S. citizens, Canadian citizens, or permanent residents to be considered for these scholarships.
  2. You must provide a copy of all your post-secondary transcripts.
  3. A minimum college cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required.
  4. Have completed 26 or more semester college credits (or the equivalent).
  5. You must be enrolled as a full-time student at UMC.
  6. Transfer scholarships are renewable for a second year if you successfully complete a minimum of 24 UMC credits and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.25.

Update: Starting with spring 2010 admits, merit scholarships will be renewed with a UMC cumulative GPA of 3.3.
