Robotics Camp at the University of Minnesota, Crookston campus (UMC), will teach junior high school age student about the math, science, and technology associated with robotics. Students will be challenged to think critically and work in teams to solve problems.
Students will work in teams to design, build, and program a robot. Each team will be issued a complete Lego MINDStorm Nxt 2.0 robotic kit and a UMC laptop to be used during camp. At the end of camp,
students may purchase a Lego MINDStorm kit from the camp for $250.
Accommodations for Robotics Camp will take place in the classroom in UMC’s newest dormitory, Evergreen Hall. This dorm is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified, meaning it
was built with many recycled products and is energy efficient.
This camp is geared towards students ages 10-14 years old. It is a three day camp offered this summer, August 6-8, 2012. Students should arrive at 8:45 am and parents can pick up students at 4:30 pm each day of camp. Students should bring a bag lunch for the first two days. Lunch will be provided on the last day. The cost of camp is $80.
More specific information pertaining to check-in process and liability forms will be sent out after registration is received by UMC. Robotics Camp will be a fun and challenging experience for boys and girls interested in learning more about robotics.
