Apply to UMC as a transfer if you have earned or completed more than 24 semester or 36 quarter college credits. All prospective students are encouraged to apply for admission. (Note: If you are a high school student and are enrolled in PSEO, College in the Schools, or have earned AP credit, you are still considered a freshman.)
If you are transferring from another University of Minnesota campus, please apply using the Application for Undergraduate Change of College .
*Transcripts are considered official if they arrive in a sealed and signed envelope from the credit granting institution. The transcript must bear the original signature of the registrar, seal of the institution, college certified, or printed on security paper. Transcripts must have been issued within the last year. Please have transcripts mailed to the Office of Admissions.
After we have received your complete application, you can expect an admission decision within two weeks. Please view the Admission Timeline for further information.
To find out how your courses will transfer, use U.Select a web-based course transfer system at www.transferology.com. U.Select is a free, a multi-state online tool for students and advisors for determining course equivalencies, program requirements and how your courses will transfer and apply to a degree program at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
Minnesota's public colleges and universities are working to make transferring easier. Plan ahead, ask questions, and use pathways created by transfer agreements. Refer to the Minnesota Transfer Homepage for more information (http://www.mntransfer.org/).
An articulation agreement is a formal arrangement to transfer a defined set of academic credits between an academic program of one institution, most often a two-year post-secondary institution, to a program within a college or campus of the University of Minnesota system to fulfill general education or program requirements.
