The Computer Help Desk is the primary end user technology support department at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) campus. The Help Desk should always be the first point of contact for all UMC customers where the Help Desk staff will properly assign all incidents to appropriate technical support staff. Help Desk staff strive to ensure customer satisfaction by providing prompt, courteous, and effective service and support.
Student Computer Return
2014 is a roll over year, which means students will all be receiving new computers in the Fall. This means that UMC computers are to be returned to the UMC Help Desk no later then 3pm, May 9th, 2014.
Just the same as previous computer roll over years, you may keep your computer ONLY if you are taking summer courses or doing an internship. The Computer Help Desk will be sending out a link for you to sign in and accept the terms shortly. This needs to be done BEFORE you leave campus, if it is not done before 3pm on May 9th you will be charged a $50 late fee and a weekly $31.25 charge there after.
If you are not taking summer courses or doing an internship your computer will need to be returned.
If you are working on campus or studying abroad and need an extension on keeping your computer you also need to let the Computer Help Desk know BEFORE May 9th. After that date you will be charged a late fee.
