We offer you an emphasis in Agricultural Environmental Stewardship or Environmental Ecology, plus five other emphasis areas to choose from.

Students take field trips to nearby locations, from rivers to fields, to engage in class projects and studies. In addition, students can work with the River Watch program and the Biological Assessment of Sediment Health (B.A.S.H.) project, plus many more!The scope of environmental sciences encompasses a broad spectrum of fields from human health to global economy. It is an interdisciplinary science incorporating an understanding of biology, chemistry, earth sciences, water resources, and economics which allows students in environmental science to explore such questions as "where chemicals released in the environment go?" and "what impact they have?". As an environmental science major, you will have the opportunity to choose from emphasis areas in Environmental Ecology, Agricultural Environmental Stewardship, Environmental Health, Water Quality, Individualized Environmental Sciences, and Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.
The Environmental Sciences major is science-focused program combining many areas, from chemistry to biology, with less focus on the statistics side of environmental studies. Within the program, you have the flexibility of choosing between six emphases - environmental ecology, agricultural environmental stewardship, environmental health, water quality, and individualized environmental sciences, and environmental toxicology and chemistry - which enable you to gain an understanding of many related areas.
